Programme at a Glance

Keynote Speech:
How AI Will Transform Our World by 2041

AI is fundamentally transforming every aspect of human life on an unimaginable scale, revolutionizing the making of goods to healthcare for mankind, generating unprecedented wealth or creating brand new forms of interactions and entertainment. Join internationally renowned AI expert Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, founder of Sinovation Ventures, former president of Google China, and bestselling author of AI Superpowers — as he introduces predictions from his 2021 new book co-authored with award-winning science-fiction writer Chen Qiufan, AI 2041: Ten Visions for Our Future. In this visionary talk, Dr. Lee will guide us to imagine our world in 20 years and how it will be reshaped by AI. Dr. Lee will decipher six mega trends in an AI and tech-enabled economy. The audience will learn which key industries AI may optimize and what AI’s limitations are, as well as potential perils when it comes to privacy, deepfakes or security around the use of AI. Based on his predictions, AI and automation will change everything from how things are produced to how business decisions are made. AI coupled with other technology breakthroughs will benefit human well-being and longevity, accelerate new sources of clean energy and safe food, hence inspiring an “age of plentitude” for our future generations.

Panel Discussion (I):
AI in Education and Research

As AI applications become more widespread in our life, future education and research will further develop AI technology. CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project will discuss the application and latest development of AI in education and research with international AI experts, as well as the notes for applying AI technology, to inspire the next generation to develop more ethical AI models.

Panel Discussion (II):
Leading Education in the AI Era

AI, which was traditionally covered in university courses, is now further incorporated into the curriculum of primary and secondary schools as an international strategic initiative. AI will lead the development of future education and become a major global education trend. CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project will discuss with local technology educators and experts to share in the AI era, how Hong Kong's primary and secondary schools, teachers, and students can face the trend of AI education.
